Zero Leads After the Local Services Ads Migration? What to Check First

By The Narsil Team · 4 min read

TL;DR

If leads stopped after your Local Services Ads account migrated, check in this order, using Google's own documentation: campaign status, the two-week ramp Google describes, a recent name, address or category change that may have triggered a review, the settings that transferred, and your phone number. If those are right, call Google's migration line. We can't diagnose an account from here, and no cause is established.

If leads stopped after your Local Services Ads account migrated, check these in order, using Google's own documentation: campaign status, the two-week ramp, a recent business name, address or category change, the settings that transferred, and your phone number.

Facts on this page were checked against Google's pages on 2026-09-30.

We need to be plain about what this page is. We haven't migrated a client, we haven't seen your account, and Google hasn't said it's a known problem. No cause is established. What follows is the order of checks we'd run, each one taken from something Google has said.

What are advertisers reporting?

On r/LocalServicesAds, a public forum for this product, advertisers describe similar experiences after their accounts moved. In one thread people report zero impressions or zero leads, a campaign they couldn't find, past call recordings they couldn't play, an email about fixing ad assets, and difficulty reaching support. One advertiser says support described the account as "inactive" and it was then activated. Another says a newly opened account picked up some leads while the migrated one stayed frozen.

Those are individual accounts, posted by people we can't verify, and they don't show the migration caused anything. They tell you that you're not the only one asking. Other advertisers in the same threads say they haven't seen any change yet.

Check 1: is the campaign Enabled?

Google says to go to the Settings tab on your Campaigns page, select your pay-per-lead campaign, and set the status: "Enabled to serve ads, or Paused to temporarily stop your ads and stop receiving leads." It's a thirty-second check and it comes first.

Check 2: how long has it been?

Google's migration page says: "While many ads will start running right away, allow up to two weeks for the migration process to fully complete and for your campaign performance to ramp back to stable levels." If it's been a few days, part of what you're seeing may be that ramp. The page doesn't say how deep a dip it covers, and zero impressions for days isn't obviously the same thing. Write down the date and what you see each day.

Check 3: did you change your name, address or category?

Google says "significant updates to your business name or physical address will trigger a standard verification review," and its FAQ adds primary category. The review "typically takes 24 to 48 hours, during which your campaign may temporarily pause." If you or an agency edited your Business Profile around migration day, this is worth ruling out. Changes to hours, phone number and minor name updates, Google says, sync within 24 hours.

Check 4: did your settings arrive as you set them?

Google says your locations, service types, categories, budget limits, ad schedule and business photos transfer automatically. Check each on the Settings tab: the categories you want are on, each active category has at least one service type on, the service areas are right, the ad schedule matches what you chose, and the daily budget equals your old weekly budget divided by 7. A schedule set to hours you're closed, or a category switched off, could mean fewer leads without any warning.

Check 5: is the phone number right?

Google says you can edit the number your call and message leads route to in Google Ads, in real time. Confirm it, and that somebody answers it. Our first-login checklist lists the rest.

What about assets emails and missing recordings?

Some advertisers mention an email asking them to fix ad assets. Google's migration page says Better Business Bureau callouts are no longer supported and recommends adding other structured callouts under Assets. Whether that's what those emails mean, we can't tell you. If you had a BBB callout, replace it.

On recordings, Google says past call recordings transfer and "remain fully accessible within the new Leads page," under Goals, Conversions, Leads. If they don't play there, that's a question for Google.

When should you call?

Once checks 1 to 5 look right and leads haven't returned, or sooner if the campaign shows nothing at all. Google's dedicated line for migrating advertisers is +1-844-205-0011, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST (details and source). Advertisers report mixed results reaching support, and we haven't called it ourselves, so we can't promise you a fast answer.

Keep a log to take to the call:

LOG (one line per day)
Date | Campaign status | Leads | Impressions if shown | What I changed
Migration date: ___ Any Business Profile edits (date): ___
Budget shown: $___/day Categories on: ___ Service areas: ___

Who shouldn't read this?

If your account hasn't migrated, read what changes and save your reports first. A dated baseline is the difference between "my leads dropped" and proof of how far.

If you're unsure whether the channel is paying for itself at all, our worth-it test uses the same records.

FAQ

Why did my Local Services Ads leads stop after migrating to Google Ads?
We can't say. Google hasn't called it a known issue on the pages we read. Its documentation names a few things that can pause or slow a campaign: a two-week ramp after migration, and a verification review of 24 to 48 hours after significant changes to business name, address or primary category.
How long should I wait after my Local Services Ads migration?
Google says to allow up to two weeks for the migration to fully complete and for performance to ramp back to stable levels. It doesn't say which dips that covers, so a campaign showing nothing at all is worth checking before the two weeks end.
How do I check that my Local Services Ads campaign is running?
In Google Ads, open the Settings tab on your Campaigns page, select your pay-per-lead campaign, and confirm the status is Enabled. Google says Paused temporarily stops your ads and stops leads. Then check your budget, service areas, categories and ad schedule on the same tab.
I can't find my campaign in Google Ads. What do I do?
Google says logging into the old dashboard redirects you to your campaign overview, and that leads are under Goals, Conversions, Leads. Its pages don't address a campaign that can't be found. Try those two places, then call Google's migration support line at +1-844-205-0011.
