Paid Media Management for AI-Era Search
Paid media here is the demand-capture layer that runs while organic compounds. Search ads meet someone already looking, retargeting meets someone who already came, and ChatGPT ads meet someone already asking. It is the honest answer to what happens in months 1 and 2, before the organic work we publish a months-3-to-6 expectation for has landed.
Now the part most agencies leave off the page: brand search takes credit for demand it did not create. If someone searches your company name they already know who you are, and a meaningful share of them would have clicked the organic result or typed the URL anyway. That gets worse when one agency runs both sides, because we would be improving the rankings that drive your branded searches and then billing for converting them. So brand and non-brand are reported separately from the first month, and we treat brand ROAS as capture efficiency rather than proof of growth.
What's in the engagement
Verification and measurement sprint
Before anything is optimized, the account has to be trustworthy. We go through conversion tracking line by line: what is marked primary, whether forms actually fire, whether calls are tracked, and whether a qualified lead can be tied back to the click that produced it. On ChatGPT ads this is also where the platform verification queue gets started, because it takes days to weeks.
Launch package
Landing page review, pixel and conversion setup, and first campaigns built around intent and economics rather than a keyword dump. We start narrower than the platforms want, prove that high-intent traffic converts at a price your margins survive, and expand from there.
Monthly optimization
Search terms and negatives, budget reallocation toward what is working, creative iteration, and the incrementality checks that separate a real result from an attribution artifact. Holdout tests on brand are part of this, not an upsell.
Google Ads
Search is where intent is explicit, so it carries most cold acquisition. Structure follows intent and economics rather than dozens of thin campaigns, match types start tight for cleaner data, and automation gets earned once the signal we are feeding it is worth amplifying.
Retargeting on Meta and Google
Audiences segmented by what someone actually did, because a person who read one blog post and a person who visited pricing three times should not see the same ad. Exclusions matter as much: you should not be paying to show an introductory offer to somebody who already bought.
ChatGPT ads
The early-mover piece, and the one where we have material most agencies do not. Targeting is contextual rather than keyword bidding: ads match the topic of the live conversation, plus first-party signals like past chats where a reader has personalization switched on. No third-party tracking follows anyone around the web, and advertisers never see the conversations themselves. Two constraints shape how it gets delivered. Political advertising is banned outright, while health, finance and legal draw stricter review rather than a blanket ban. And agencies still cannot create advertiser accounts on a client's behalf, so you own the account and we get invited in. Availability moved fast through 2026, so we check your market before proposing it rather than assuming.
Reporting that leads with the business result
Qualified leads, opportunities, and customers or revenue wherever we can reach them, with brand shown separately from non-brand. Failed tests get reported as failed tests, including what they cost. The report exists to produce better decisions, not to re-justify the retainer every thirty days.
Who this is for
Businesses with existing search demand, margins that survive the click cost, a budget large enough to learn something, and a sales process that can handle more volume. If two or three of those are missing, we will tell you to keep your money rather than sell you a campaign.

FAQ
- What does paid media cost?
- $500 per month up to $2,000 in monthly ad spend, and $1,500 per month above that. Ad spend itself is separate and goes to the platform. It works as an add-on to Forge or Foundry, or on its own. Every price we charge is published, this one included.
- Who should not run Google Ads?
- Plenty of businesses, and we would rather say so before you spend. The common disqualifiers: not enough high-intent search volume to matter, margins that cannot survive realistic click costs, a budget too small to buy enough attempts to learn anything, no shared definition of what a good lead is, or a sales process that is already the bottleneck. Ads will not fix unanswered phones. If two or three of those apply, the honest recommendation is not to run paid search yet, and sometimes that is the most useful thing we can tell you.
- Do you guarantee results?
- No, and be careful with anyone who does. There is going to be some tuition: search terms need testing, ads need to fail, and landing pages need comparing before anything settles. What we will commit to is telling you early when the math is not working, rather than spending your budget to protect ours.
- Who owns the ad accounts?
- You do, by default, and we get invited in. On ChatGPT ads that is not a choice, because agencies cannot create advertiser accounts on behalf of clients. We can hold an account when a client would rather we did, but the default runs the other way: if you leave, you leave with your history, your audiences, and your data.
- Will you keep telling me to spend more?
- No. Sometimes the right recommendation is to cut a campaign, move money into organic, or pause while a landing page gets fixed. If your SEO gets strong enough that you can stop buying certain clicks without losing customers, that is a win, even though it reduces the budget we manage. We do not measure our own success by whether your ad spend goes up.
- Do you have paid media case studies?
- Not yet, and we are not going to borrow someone else's. This is a new service line built on a documented method rather than a portfolio. If published results are what you buy on, that is a fair reason to choose somebody else, and we would rather say it here than have you discover it on a call.
