Your links are invisible from your own site
You can see your pages, your titles and your reviews. You can't see the websites linking to you, and they're one of the signals Google uses to decide how far to trust a site. When a local paper deletes the article that mentioned you, or a supplier redesigns and drops your link, nothing on your site changes and nobody tells you.

How the pull works
The first time you open it, Backlink Profile builds the profile in about a minute. From then on it refreshes on a fixed day each month, and Refresh pulls again on demand, once a day. Search Console's Links report has no API, so you can paste its export in and see Google's counts beside the index's.
Every link index is a floor
These are the links the index knows about. Backlink Profile reads a third-party link index for your site, shows that index's counts, keeps the strongest 1,000 rows per pull, and dates each pull by the index's last update. A link the index stops listing is marked unverified: each pull fetches up to 20 of those linking pages itself, and a link becomes lost only when its page answers without it.

Watching links, and finding them
Backlink Profile watches the links you have. The Link Opportunity Finder finds the ones you don't: directories, local sites and pages that already mention you or should. Name competitors on a Finder run and the profile's Competitors tab shows the linking domains they have that you lack. Both are included with Pro.

Questions about backlinks
- Which plan includes Backlink Profile?
- Pro, at $99/month, which includes all eighteen tools and every tool that ships later. On Starter the tools are visible but locked.
- Why doesn't my Temper match the score another tool gives my site?
- Because they're different scales on different link indexes. Neither is wrong; they aren't measuring the same thing on the same data. Compare your Temper to your own past months, or to another site's Temper.
- Does it show every link to my site?
- No index does. You see the index's counts and the strongest 1,000 rows it returns per pull. Paste Search Console's Links export and Google's own counts sit beside them, though Google's export carries no dates, attributes or ranks.
- What do I do with the lost links?
- Ask for them back. Each one on the list comes with the page that used to link, what its link said, and the page of yours it pointed at, which is most of an outreach email. The ask closes on its own when the link is seen live again.
