Narsil SEO passed Google verification, so any Narsil SEO customer can now connect Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Google Business Profile without meeting a warning screen. Google holds back any app that asks for sensitive Google account data: it either limits the app to a short list of test users or warns everyone else that the app isn't verified. That review is done, and the warning is gone.
Here's what Google checked, what each connection does inside Narsil SEO, and how to switch it off again.
What did Google verify?
Google runs a review, called OAuth app verification, on any app that asks for a permission Google classes as sensitive. Narsil SEO asks for one: read-only access to Google Analytics. Google's Third Party Data Safety Team approved it, after checking the app's public home page, its privacy policy, and why the app needs the data.
You can read both. The app's home page is narsilcreative.com/seo-software, which has a section on what happens to your Google data, and the Narsil SEO privacy policy names the safeguards that protect it.
The other two connections didn't need that review. Google classes the Search Console and Business Profile permissions as non-sensitive, and both connect through the same verified app.
What verification doesn't mean
Google reviewed how we ask for your data and how we protect it. It didn't review our audit, our advice or our tools, and it isn't an endorsement. Connecting Narsil SEO also won't change how Google ranks your site.
It isn't the Google Verified badge either. That badge belongs to Local Services Ads, a different Google product with its own screening.
What does each connection do in Narsil SEO?
Connecting is optional, and you choose it site by site. The audit, the health score and the written fixes all run without any Google connection.
| Connection | What we read | Where it shows up | Plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Read-only, one property you pick. Monthly sessions, engaged sessions, users, new users, key events and engagement rate, by source, medium, channel and landing page | The site's Analytics tab: sessions by channel, top landing pages, and traffic from AI assistants. The Money Pages Finder on the same tab. Visits sent per linking domain in Backlink Profile | Starter and Pro. Backlink Profile is Pro |
| Google Search Console | Read-only, one property you pick. Monthly clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position for each search and page | Question Engine checks new questions against what you already rank for, and Content Authority Roadmap uses your impressions as evidence. The Search tab shows what's synced | Starter and Pro. The two tools are Pro |
| Google Business Profile | Only the listings you link. Daily views on Google Search and Maps, calls, website clicks and direction requests, the searches that found each listing every month, the profile as Google shows it, and its reviews with replies | Profile Performance, Review Inbox (reviews read every day) and Citations Checker (your profile's details shown wherever they differ from the location you confirm) | Pro, because locations are Pro |
The Money Pages Finder reads your Analytics landing pages and suggests two kinds of pages to watch: pages that already sell, and busy pages that convert well below the rest of the site. You decide which to flag.
One thing is still to come. The Search tab shows your Search Console connection and how far back it reaches, but its charts aren't built yet, and Easy Wins Finder, AI Search Report and Keyword Conflict Checker still take a pasted Search Console export.
What do we do with your data?
We read it so Narsil SEO can show you your own numbers in its reports and tools, and for nothing else. The rules are the same ones on our pricing page and in the privacy policy:
- It's stored in Narsil SEO's database in the United States, inside your organization's account. The access keys Google issues us are encrypted, and only our servers can read them.
- We don't sell it, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't use it to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
- In the app, Narsil staff can see it only inside a support session, which lasts at most four hours and is logged.
- Nothing is ever written to your Google account.
Disconnect from the site's Analytics, Search or Locations tab and we revoke our access at Google and stop reading. What we already read stays in your reports until you ask us to delete it at hello@narsilcreative.com.
Before you connect: a two-minute check
A Google connection fails for two reasons you can prevent: an account without access to the property, or a permission box left unticked. Run this first, whether you use Narsil SEO or any other tool that asks for the same access.
BEFORE YOU CONNECT A GOOGLE ACCOUNT TO ANY SEO TOOL
1. Pick the right account.
Analytics: one with at least Viewer access to the property.
Search Console: any user of the property except an unverified one.
Business Profile: the account that manages the listing.
2. Read the permission screen.
Read-only permissions say "see" or "view". If a box is unticked,
the tool can't read that data. Leave the ones you meant to grant.
3. Match the property to the site.
One site, one property. Check the domain before you confirm.
4. Know the exit.
Bookmark myaccount.google.com/connections. Every app with
access to your Google account is listed there, with a Remove button.
5. Check what the tool says it does with the data.
Look for: where it's stored, who can see it, whether it's sold
or used to train AI. No page saying so is your answer.

Who doesn't need to connect
A brand-new site with a few weeks of traffic will get little from the Analytics connection yet: the charts fill in as your history builds. If you're on Starter, the Business Profile connection isn't available, because locations come with Pro. And if you'd rather not grant any Google access, the audit doesn't need it. Every check, the health score and the written fixes run on our own crawl of your site.
Narsil SEO is the self-serve side of what we do at Narsil Creative. If you have the hours, it tells you what to fix and writes the fix for you, and these connections let it work from your own numbers.
