Narsil SEO Checker privacy policy
Effective September 30, 2026
Narsil SEO Checker reads the page you ask it to check, inside your browser, and sends nothing to Narsil Creative or to anyone else.
It's a free Chrome extension from Narsil Creative (narsilcreative.com). It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
What does Narsil SEO Checker read?
Only the page in the tab where you open the extension, and only when you open it. The first time, it says what it reads and waits until you agree. From that page it reads:
- the page's HTML as your browser shows it, with known cookie banners, admin bars and chat widgets taken off its copy
- the page's address
- its content type, so it can tell a web page from an image or a file
- the HTTP status the page loaded with
It reads nothing in other tabs, runs nothing in the background, and never reads your cookies or what you've typed into the page's form fields, passwords included. Text you type into an editor that's part of the page, like a rich-text editor, is part of the page's content, so it's read along with the page and, like the rest, never leaves your browser.
What does it do with that?
It runs the same checks as our Page Audit tool and shows you the results in the extension's window. When that window closes, what it read from the page is gone.
What does it keep?
Two things, both in your browser:
- that you agreed to what it reads, as a version number, so it doesn't ask every time
- the keyword you typed for a tab, held in memory until you close the browser
It keeps no record of the pages you check.
Where does the data go?
Nowhere. Narsil SEO Checker has no server. It sends nothing to Narsil Creative, uses no analytics, and reports no errors home. There is no account to create and nothing to sign in to.
What does it share?
Nothing. It doesn't sell, rent, share or transfer anything it reads, for advertising or for any other purpose. Nobody at Narsil Creative can see it.
What about its links to narsilcreative.com?
The extension links to our guides and to Narsil SEO. Those links carry tags (utm_source=seo-checker) so our site's analytics can count visits that came from the extension. The tags say which link you followed, and on a guide link that's the check it explains. They never carry the page's address or anything from it. Once you're on narsilcreative.com, our site privacy policy applies.
Limited Use statement
Narsil SEO Checker's use of the information it reads from the pages you check complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. It reads only what its single purpose needs (checking the page you're viewing for on-page SEO and AI readiness), it doesn't transfer that information to anyone, and no human at Narsil Creative reads it.
Why does it ask for each permission?

Frequently asked questions
Does Narsil Creative see the pages I check?
No. The extension has no server and sends nothing to us.
Does the extension change the pages I check?
No. It reads a copy of the page. It never edits a page, fills in or submits a form, or sends a request of its own.
How do I delete what it kept?
Closing the browser clears the keywords. Removing the extension from chrome://extensions clears the rest.
Will this policy change?
If the extension changes what it reads or keeps, this page changes first, with a new effective date, and the extension asks you to agree again before it reads anything under the new terms.
